We were finally able to celebrate my sweet girl's 2nd birthday on Sunday. Homegirl was sick on her birthday on New Year's Eve and it lasted for over 10 days! My original idea was to go with an animal print theme because I found some cute paper months ago, but I ended up simplifying it a lot because we had the party so late. I kind of threw in a bit of a milk and cookies twist because I saw some really cute ideas for that theme on Pinterest.
I am a Pinterest addict. Aren't we all?
In case you are wondering this is what simplifying looks like for me.
My very simple cake...with a surprise inside.
Zebra stripes. {Inspiration here.}
Found these yummy cookies here. BaNilla sandwich cookies. Serious goodness.
Balloon centerpiece from Party Magic...a local party supply store. I buy these for our parties now instead of helium balloons. They last a long long time. Plus, they are so cute.
These little milk bottles were a hit. The bottles are those Starbuck's frappucino drinks. (thanks hubby for drinking them first) The straws are from here.
It was a sweet, small and stress free party. I intended it to be that way. I wanted to celebrate my girl, but not go overboard by inviting everyone we know. Especially since her birthday is 1 week after Christmas.
I live for this really. Throwing parties for my girls that is.
Not lit-ra-lee. (I live for more important things too.)
I just love the process.
And now that we have Pinterest, the sky is the limit. Which can also be so overwhelming. But I don't mind.
****post edit: I just realized I for got the invites
Purchsed from My Retro baby.
