It's a rainy Monday. I am loving it though. Lately, life has been moving way to fast for my liking so a little rain on a Monday is a bit of perfection.
I can't say that one particular thing is sucking up my time and energy. It's just that whenever I have any free time the last thing I want to do is put a thought together and type it up here. Is anyone else out there struggling to keep up? Sometimes it doesn't seem like it, but I know that's just the devil telling me lies. Don't get me wrong here, my life is blessed. I guess it is just because I am the mom. A lot of "stuff" is always on our plate. Big stuff, little stuff....a lot of stuff! Even if we don't get involoved in the extras, life is crazy. I think that it just catches up with you sometimes. I know it is getting bad when I feel like a failure as a human being when we are out of milk and toilet paper. I mean how can that possibly define who I am? Ha! Get a grip lady!
Anyway! Moving on to why I am even here today. My girls. Faith and Annabel started school last week. Most of you who are reading this already know because you follow me on Instagram and Facebook, but that's ok. I need to remember this day so on we go with the pictures. Lots of pictures.
As the kids were sleeping, I got busy decorating the kitchen for their big day. Annie started kindergarten this year so something special was in order. If you have spent anytime here then you know I love to go overboard a little with decorating for special events. It is one way I show love to my girls. Plus, I love doing it. I promise you that the other side of the kitchen was a complete DISASTER!
The school bus is from their Lalaloopsy toy collection. I just threw mason jars in it filled with markers and colored pencils, which you can clearly see. I use my roll of brown kraft paper quite often. I added the scalloped edge for fun. Sometimes my hoarding of craft supplies benefits those around me ;) I had everything here on hand in my stash except for the tissue paper balls. They were bought at Target in the party section. Thanks to my hubby for hanging them at 11pm. He even had to go outside and get our big ladder. Love that guy. The paper was found at Tuesday Morning. They have an awesome craft section. I find a lot of very cute things for cheap. Do you have those or is that just a St. Louis thing?
How can you be in 4th grade already?!?!
Didn't I just potty train you yesterday?!
I love this kid. So smart. Kind. Thoughtful. She loves school, always has. Hopefully she always will. Big love for her. BIG.
Their posing slays me. It may be my fault though.
My Annie. Sweet sweet Annie June. If you know her then you already know she is such a happy child. Always skipping and whistling and singing. I knew she would love school. I just didn't know how much I was going to miss her. It hurts a little. BUT, she is happy so I am happy.
Little Liv misses her big sisters too. I have to say though that I am loving the one on one time with her. Her sisters both had me to themselves for a time, so should she. I am so thankful for my spunky, strong-willed, independent 2 year old baby girl. At least I have her for a few more years until she leaves me too!
Along with having chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast another tradition we have is that Bobby always takes the first day of school off. He likes to be there to take them to school and pick them up. Liv had her him all to herself that day. Daddy spoiled her by doing whatever she wanted. We took her to McDonalds for lunch. He even suggested we let her play in the playland. Now that is love.
Well look at that...as I spent too much time typing this post the sun came out. Instead of being a bum today maybe I will rise and shine! Funny how our moods depend on the weather.
