I have been meaning to share what we did over our extended Thanksgiving weekend. I can not move on to Christmas stuff on here until I do, so here goes....
The week started with Thanksgiving lunch and a cute little performance at Annie's preschool. They spent days preparing for our arrival...shopping for the food and chopping veggies(with plastic knives of course). It was so fun, and lunch was yummy too!
I didn't bring my camera to the firehouse on Wednesday so I had to take photos with my cell phone. The firemen were so sweet. They loved the cookies and were so grateful that we thought of them on Thanksgiving. They gave us a tour of the firehouse and then gave the girls pink fire helmets. I die! Who knew they had pink ones! We will be back...next time we will bring cupcakes!
Later that day(after we put up the tree) it was on to see Happy Feet Two! They had a baby. I was in love.

Thursday morning was spent cooking the turkey and potatoes. More cleaning, of course. Bob and Faith, along with many many others, volunteered at the Community Hope Center. They delivered meals to homes in our community to those in need. It was a great lesson to teach our eldest. Thankfully since they had so many volunteers this year, they got home early so we could eat!
KEEPING THEM BUSY UNTIL IT WAS TIME TO EAT!
The scene. Nothing fancy at all. I was just lucky to have food prepared and a clean house. No joke.
Bird, Bird, Bird....Bird is the word! Great job cuttin' up the bird honey!
It really was a wonderful day. The girls had so much fun with their Grandmas and Aunt Billie Jo. They convinced them to put together puzzles, play dolls and even Twister. That's right, I said Twister. On full bellies. Histerical.
Later that night I headed out into the madness...Black Friday shopping.
We stood by the pallet of $50 dollar sewing machines waiting for the clock to strike 10pm. Us and 5 other nerds who wanted one.
After Walmart, we headed to Kohl's. It did not open until midnight so we waited quite a while outside in the cold. One of the dumbest things I have ever done.
The clock struck twelve. We ran inside and grabbed what we thought we needed. I went to find the end of the line. By then, it had already wrapped around the entire store. I may have cried. Ok, I did cry. That was ridiculous. I felt trapped like a rat. Never again. I couldn't leave because I didn't drive. Another dumb mistake. Live and learn I guess. ***It took 1 hour and 45 min to check out...not worth it. Ha! I didn't get home until 4am.
The elf made it's debut Thanksgiving night....
Since this is our first year adopting an Elf on the Shelf, we needed to come up with a name for the little guy. Faith broke out the baby name book and got to work. HILARIOUS! She decided on the name Ethan. ETHAN the Elf. Some of those other names crack me up! Gaston...too funny!

On Friday, Faith delivered our elderly neighbor a card that she handmade along with a candle. She really wanted Connie to know that she was thankful for her. I love that girl!
Friday night, our good friends, The Turners joined us for a crafting/game night. The girls crafted.....the boys played video games and the kids played together. I made pom pom garlands for our tree. I smell a new tradition! Crafting/video game nights :)

To cap off an already fabulous few days, my friend Erica hosted a party on Saturday night in honor of Breaking Dawns release. She made us dinner and we also played Twilight "Scene it" trivia. She really out did herself. The decorations were to die for!
Those were the highlights folks! Somewhere in there, we put up the tree and the lights on the outside of the house. Other highlights include church and lunch at our favorite mexican spot. I heart cheese dip.
I also heart.....family, friends, black friday shopping(NOT), turkey, tiny elves, Thanksgiving, Edward and You!
Now it's on to Christmas! The most wonderful time of the year.
