I have not felt like updating the blog lately. Lots of things are going on around here. It's just laziness. Today is the first day I have even been able to just sit here and not have to go anywhere! Don't get me wrong, I have lots of places to go to prepare for our Family photos this friday and for our trip to the Rush's but Annie decided to be sick today. I am sure she didn't mean to wake up vomitting but sometimes I feel like they just know! Poor baby. The crazy thing is that she is acting fine right now but since I put it out there on Facebook that she is sick, I feel like I MUST stay home because if people saw me out they would judge. That sounds horrible I know. Just being honest. Also, the other moms at the playdate we were supposed to attend would probably hate me. Oh, and of course I want her to get better too. Just acting a bit selfish because this is not what I had planned for today. I am over it now :)
Friday I got to attend a field trip with Faith's class to the Missouri Botanical Gardens. I even rode the bus. Why did I think that would be a good idea? I had never attended a field trip before where I didn't bring another child along so this was new for me. Note to self: Never ride the bus, always drive behind it! Here are a few pictures I took while we explored this beautiful and extraordinary place...
3 great friends excited to begin the day! (I was in charge of these 3, there was a little drama but nothing I couldn't handle)
The most breathtaking freeblown glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly
Faith planting her vine. They are studying rainforests at school so thats what today was all about. Onto the Climatron! It's a dome inside the Gardens that is like a rainforest environment.
Waterfalls, banana trees & statues...
More Dale Chihuly...
Next we headed to the Japanese Garden and saw some Koi fish, streams and lily pads. Those fish were huge and hungry!
On our way back to eat lunch we spotted more Chihuly glass. It was so beautiful! I have never seen anything like it.
This trip was so rushed as most field trips are. We are about an hour away so time was very limited. I can not wait to take the whole family back! There is so much more to see and it was all so overwhelmingly lush and beautiful! If you are local and have never been or have not been in a while I urge you to go if you can. Go to their website and check it out! Missouri Botanical Garden
Later!
